Theme
2012 was a year of change, forward motion, and the predicted apocalypse; therefore our theme was the “Rockpocalypse”. 2013 has been a year of restructuring, growth, and renewal and we can’t wait to see how contestants interpret this into a theme!
We encourage you to use our name in your design “Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls” (note the ‘n’ and lowercase “for”) as well as the year “2013”. Other text can include “Portland, Oregon”, or words that relate to the theme, music, or our mission and core values.
We strive to break stereotypes of what it means to be a girl as well as what it means to “rock”, so be open in your interpretation of Rock Camp. Designs, otherwise, can be as weird and wild as your imagination is, so long as the content is your original creation, all ages appropriate and speaks to RNRC4G, our mission, and/or our theme in some way. Simple may work best: avoid tiny details, shading.
Design Specs and Submission Guidelines
Submissions can be sent electronically or in hard copy, either from our template (available for download on our website http://www.girlsrockcamp.org) or their own file.
Submit entries via email to: volunteer@girlsrockcamp.org or via Snail Mail: to Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls ATTN: SC TShirt Contest, PO Box 11324 Portland, OR 97211 USA.
Hard copy designs submitted in person or by mail must be one-color on white, unlined paper, at least 8.5” x 5.5”. Electronic submissions also need to be one-color on a white or transparent background, and in flattened .pdf or .tiff file format at a high-resolution. If the file is too large to attach, a screencap or smaller, lo-res file is accepted, but contestants should retain a higher-res file.
The design is limited to one color that must be flat and solid, with no shading, blending, or half-tones; the design must render well in black-on-white and white-on-black t-shirts. Simple is a good place to start. Please keep this in mind as you design.
The Fine Print
Submissions will be accepted from people of all ages, around the world, and there are no limitations on the number of times you can enter the contest. The design must be the artist’s original creation and shall not be copied or duplicated from published art.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls reserves the right to alter the design if necessary and the winner(s) may be asked to make alterations if their design does not match printer specs, or needs adjustments. Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls will not assume liability for any loss or theft of any entry.
All submissions will be property of Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls and maybe used at the discretion of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls for merch creation, swag, promotion or other materials.
Thank you for your submissions! You Rock!
